SymmetricDS 3.6.5, an open source software for multi-master database replication, filtered synchronization, or transformation across the network in a heterogeneous environment, is now at version 3.6.1 and is available for download.

SymmetricDS supports multiple subscribers with one- or bi-directional asynchronous data replication and uses technologies to replicate tables between relational databases.

This latest update for the software is quite large and the developers have made a number of interesting changes. For example, PostGIS Spatial data replication no longer fails with SRID problem, symmetric-wrapper no longer includes the version number, a more accurate way to get a machine's hostname has been added, the directory listing of symmetricds installation has been included in the snapshot, and the extensions.xml property has been added, which can be used to configure symmetric extensions.

Also, the database upgrade no longer fails on the SQL server because the drop index doesn't allow the database name in the ddl, MS Azure now supports the sysconstraints view, stagedresource has been improved, the version of Postgis no longer fails to replicate, and support has been added for token replacement for $(sourceCatalogName) and $(sourceSchemaName) in lookup table transform.
