A new Beta release of the Steam for Linux client has been made available by Valve, with a small number of fixes. Most likely, a new stable version of the client will be released soon.

The company has two branches for Steam, a stable and a development one, and it usually tests all the changes and features in the Beta version.

According to the changelog, a broken login text in non-English translations caused by the last update has been fixed, some cases where the Uninstall popup could stick around forever have been corrected, and a number of uncommon in-home streaming crashes have been fixed.

Check out the official announcement for more details about this release. You can also download the Steam installer from Softpedia if you don't have the client.

Keep in mind that this is a Beta version and you might experience some problems with it. In order to get it, you have to enroll in the Beta program, from Preferences.
