This is a smaller release, but users should upgrade nonetheless

A fresh Steam for Linux Beta client has been made available by Valve, this time with a smaller changelog but with a few interesting changes.

Between stable builds, the developers release a large number of Beta versions, which integrate a lot of new features. Usually, devs slow down the rate of changes when they get closer to a big release, and a new stable one is almost upon us. There hasn't been a new release for some time now, and this might one of the last Beta builds.

A number of important improvements and changes have been added. For example, a warning is now provided when going to an unknown URL sent via the chat, the Intel Quicksync login support has been improved, a potential hang that occurred when using certain UI toolkits that relied on SIGCHLD has been fixed, and the EULA is now correctly localized if language changes in the Choose Language panel.

More details about this latest release can be found in the official announcement. Download the Steam for Linux installer from Softpedia.

Keep in mind that this is a Beta version and you might experience some problems with it. In order to get it, you have to enroll in the Beta program, from Preferences.
