Sports Interactive and SEGA have announced that their franchise, Football Manager, will arrive on Linux on October 31, and it seems that you will need an Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

To be fair, the game will most likely work on other distributions as well but, for support reasons, Sega and Sports Interactive have chosen to recommend Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin).

“We cannot guarantee or take responsibility if you are running Football Manager on a unsupported Distribution of Linux, and you are suffering issues with the 3D match engine. It is supported on Ubuntu 12.04LTS,” reads a post on the official forums.

Linux system requirements have been listed as: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, Intel Pentium 4 Intel Core or AMD Athlon 1.8GHz+ processor, 1 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 7300 GT, AMD Radeon HD 2400, Pro Intel HD 3000/4000 with 128MB VRAM, and 3 GB of available HD space.
