SliTaz GNU/Linux, a free operating system working completely in memory from removable media such as a CD-ROM or USB key, aiming to be light and fully installable on a hard drive, is now at version 4.0 RC2.

SliTaz 4.0 RC2 should be able to boot in 10-12 seconds, depending on the user's hardware. With this new 4in1 ISO feature, anyone can install a full SliTaz desktop, with only 48MB of system RAM.

The developers have fixed many problems from the previous release candidate, and made several improvement to TazPKG, TazPanel, and TazUSB. TazPanel actually makes Wi-Fi a lot easier and the TazPKG has better desktop integration.

SliTaz 4.0 RC2 also comes with a full org package and DRI support. The LiveCD now includes Lxrandr, Parcellite, and Transmission.

Download SliTaz 4.0 RC2 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
