Slackware Linux, a complete 32-bit multitasking "UNIX-like" system that is currently based around the 3.10 Linux kernel series, is now at version 14.1 RC2.

Another Release Candidate has been outed for the new Slackware Linux 14.x branch, with a fresh set of updates and a new Linux kernel.

The developers have chosen to integrate Linux kernel 3.10.17, but the final version, which should be just around the corner, might feature an even newer one.

A number of important packages have been upgraded, including lftp, usbutils, acct, pciutils, mesa, and a few others.

More details about this release can be found in the official changelog. Download Slackware Linux 14.1 RC2 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
