Slackel KDE 4.8.5, a Slackware-based Linux operating system, has been announced yesterday, September 2nd, by Dimitris Tzemos. This release brings various new features and improvements.

Slackel KDE 4.8.5 highlights:

Firefox 15.0 has been added; • KMail and Ktorrent are the main networking applications included in the distribution; • Akregator, an RSS reader for KDE, has been added; • Kopete, a KDE instant messenger, has been added; • Bangarang 2.1, Clementine 1.0.1, and K3b 2.0.2 have been included; • Calligra Words, Calligra Stage, and Calligra Tables are the new office applications; • Krita, Karbon, Gwenview, KColorChooser, and Ksnapshot have been added; • Sourcery (from Salix), a new graphical tool for managing and installing packages, has also been added.
