Linux support is growing steadily on Steam

The Steam for Linux environment is a very different one now, more than two years after the official release of the client, and it seems that things are looking up. In fact, six out of the most played ten games on Steam also have Linux support.

It wasn't long ago that users wouldn't give Linux the time of day in any gaming-related matters, but things have changed dramatically. Many of the new games that make their way to the platform do so with Linux support by default, and some publishers are porting their titles to the new platform. That is why so many of Steam's top games can be played on the open source platform.

It wasn't hard to guess that Dota 2 takes the first place, followed by Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Team Fortress, the multiplayer FPS from Valve is on the fourth place, followed by Football Manager 2015 on six, Sid Meier's Civilization V on eight, and Garry's Mod on ten.

If Grand Theft Auto V, Clicker Heroes, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim forever remain Windows titles, we can be sure that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will get Linux support in the near future, so we can say that seven out of ten games are actually Linux titles.
