The Silk Road's alleged boss, Ross Ulbricht, who got arrested a few months back, seems to have been an Ubuntu user, and possibly a fan.

According to gawker.com, at the time of his arrest, he was in a San Francisco public library with his laptop, logged in the customer support administration section of his website.

The details of the case are not so important for Linux users (you can find more information in another report from Softpedia), but he was using Linux at that time, Ubuntu to be more precise. He was on TOR browser, in a new Ubuntu system that featured Unity and Pidgin as the main chat applications.
