Shutter, a feature-rich screenshot program that allows users to capture nearly anything on their screen without losing control, has been upgraded and some minor changes have been made.
The Shutter devs don't release too many updates and they only make changes when it's really important, but in this latest version they only fixed a couple of small issues and it's likely that most users won't even notice the upgrade.
"You can take a screenshot of a specific area, window, your whole screen, or even of a website – apply different effects to it, draw on it to highlight points, and then upload to an image hosting site, all within one window," reads the official website.
The devs have explained that some deprecated code has been fixed, some translations have been updated, and the Dropbox and XFIXES components have been fixed (sending files directly to Dropbox should work again).
The best way to install the latest version of Shutter is with the help of the provided PPA. Just enter the following commands in a terminal (you will need to be root for this to work):
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install shutter
