Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues, a new RPG developed and published by Portalarium on Steam, has also landed on the Linux platform.

There is no shortage of RPG titles on the Steam for Linux platform, but the developers from Portalarium are trying to do something different by combining a single-player experience with a sandbox MMO. For now, it's been released in the Early Access Game program and it's still under development.

"Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues is a new type of third person fantasy RPG that combines a single player narrative with a sandbox MMO. It is being created by a team that includes: Richard "Lord British" Garriott the creator of the Ultima series, Starr Long the original Director of Ultima Online, and Tracy Hickman the author of the beloved Dragonlance Novels and Dungeons & Dragons modules," reads the Steam synopsis.

The minimum system requirements are acceptable and it shouldn't pose a problem to most of the users. Gamers will need at least Ubuntu 10.10 or newer (other distros will work as well), an Intel Core 2 DUO 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon X2 2.7 GHz processor, 4 GB of RAM, an ATI Radeon HD 3870, NVIDIA 8800 GT, or Intel HD 3000 Integrated Graphics video cards, and 6 GB of available HDD space.

The game also comes with a 15% discount that will end on December 1.
