The Ubuntu User Survey 2012 announced by Canonical in the beginning of March has ended, and the second part of the results was published yesterday, March 22nd.

As we explained yesterday when we presented the first set of data from The Ubuntu User Survey 2012, users need to know that the survey was conducted in three languages, English, Spanish, and Portuguese and the responses were divided by language: English (15,653), Spanish (1,825), and Portuguese (1,751).

Canonical has revealed that most people have used Ubuntu operating systems for an interval between 2 and 5 years (42.7%). We only focus on the English responders as there is consistency across the board.

Another interesting fact is that word of Ubuntu is spreading mostly on forums, IRC channels and other similar media, in great number, 48.5% to be precise, followed by friends and family 25.2%. This is representative for people who have been using an Ubuntu operating system for 2-4 years.

Also, most people have a fresh install of Ubuntu (67.2%) as opposed to an updated version, and most of them (58.5%) found the installation of the distribution very easy.

These are just a few numbers from The Ubuntu User Survey 2012, and more will come soon!
