OpenAFS is again the main focus of this new version

Scientific Linux, a recompiled Red Hat Enterprise Linux put together by various labs and universities around the world, has reached version 6.2 RC1.

Scientific Linux 6.2 RC1 comes with a small number of updates and improvements: OpenAFS was updated to 1.6.0-97.z2.sl6 and support for SL 6.2 has been added in livecd-tools and liveusb-creator.

Scientific Linux is now recognizable as Enterprise Linux, a new x86_64 Adobe repository is available, and Scientific Linux install classes have been added.

Some packages were removed in this version of Scientific Linux such as rhn-client-tools, rhnlib, rhnsd, rhn-setup-gnome, subscription-manager, yum-rhn-plugin, and VDSM which was accidentally released by TUV.
