Smb4K 1.1.3, an SMB/CIFS (Windows) share browser for KDE that uses the Samba software suite to access the SMB and CIFS shares of the local network neighborhood, has been released and is now available for download.

Smb4K features scanning for (active) workgroups, hosts, and shares, support of the CIFS (Linux) and SMBFS (FreeBSD) file systems, mounting and unmounting of shares (using the KAuth framework), auto-detection of external mounts and unmounts, and much more.

According to the changelog, mounting of a password-protected share now works under FreeBSD if no password has been defined yet, a number of compilation errors under FreeBSD have been fixed, and a crash that could happen during the loading of bookmarks into the bookmark editor's tree widget has been fixed.

Also, an error that occurred when the authentication data was requested and the password dialog was just closed has been fixed, an issue that manifested itself when a recurring authentication error happened has been corrected, and the “Command Reference” section in the handbook has been improved.

Check out the official announcement for a complete list of changes and bug fixes. You can download Smb4K 1.3.0 source packages right now from Softpedia. Keep in mind that this you will need to compile it.
