Samba 4.1.3, an app that seamlessly integrates Linux/Unix servers and desktops into Active Directory environments using the winbind daemon, is now available for download.

This new 4.1.3 release is now the latest stable version available for download and it's just a maintenance build, if we judge by the number of changes.

According to the developers, samba versions 3.2.0 and above (all versions of 3.2.x, 3.3.x, 3.4.x, 3.5.x, 3.6.x, 4.0.x, and 4.1.x) are now checking the underlying file or directory ACL when opening an alternate data stream.

Also, the DCE-RPC fragment length field is now checked correctly and the Fail authentication no longer fails if the user isn't a member of *any* require_membership_of specified groups.

More details about this release can be found in the official announcement.
