This is just another maintenance release of the 3.x branch

Samba, an app that seamlessly integrates Linux/Unix servers and desktops into Active Directory environments using the Winbind daemon, is now at version 3.6.16.

This is the oldest stable branch still maintained by the developers. Most of the changes implemented are just maintenance fixes and improvements.

Highlights of Samba 3.6.16:

• A crash that occurred during the Win8 sync has been fixed; • The Oplock breaks in compound requests are now handled properly; • The "experimental" label has been removed from the "max protocol=SMB2" parameter; • dbwrap_tool and dbwrap_torture have been fixed

Samba is an important component that is needed to integrate Linux/Unix Servers and Desktops into Active Directory environments by using the winbind daemon.
