Salix, a GNU/Linux distribution based on Slackware that is simple, fast, easy to use, and based on Xfce desktop environment, is now at version 14.0.1 RC1.

As the name suggests, this version will become the next stable version of Salix, at least for the Xfce flavor.

Highlights of Salix OS Xfce 14.0.1 RC1:

• The Linux kernel has been updated to version 3.2.45;
• Several important security issues have been fixed;
• LibreOffice has been updated to the 4.x branch;
• The Midori internet browser has been updated to version 0.5.2.
