An Ubuntu 11.10-based operating system for Muslims

Sabily 11.10, dubbed Uhud, has been officially announced earlier today, being based on Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) and featuring the Unity interface.

Sabily is an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution intended specifically for Muslims. It comes bundled with a great number of dedicated apps like Quran study/search tools and prayer time notifications, Islamic calendar, and support for the Arab language.

Sabily 11.10 is powered by the GNOME 3 desktop environment (GNOME -Shell is also available) and Linux Kernel 3.0.

It includes the powerful GNOME Tweak Tool to easily customize your GNOME 3 environment, Islamic time/date functions GNOME-Shell extension, Mozilla Firefox 8, Mozilla Thunderbird mail client, as well as new artwork and lots of wallpapers.
