Rhythmbox 3.0.3, an integrated music management application, originally inspired by Apple's iTunes and designed to work well under the GNOME desktop environment, has been released.

Rhythmbox 3.0.3 has been dubbed “Devilfish” and this is basically a maintenance version for the 3.0 branch. The developers of this application don't update the software as much as they used to, but it's nice to see that they still care about it.

There are many media players on the Linux platform, but only a handful of them are implemented in numerous Linux distributions.

According to the developers, the embedded cover art is now correctly applied to the tracks that follow the current one, the “not enough space on the device” error that occurred when transcoding flac files to removable devices has been fixed, the UPnP browsing problems with the new grilo 0.2 rb-plugin have been fixed, and a SIGSEGV-related crash has been corrected.

Also, users must now switch to the Paradise Radio default stream in order to receive metadata, a number of grilo fixes have been implemented, and the external Plugin toolbar options are now spaced correctly.
