Gnumeric, a spreadsheet application that is part of the Gnome desktop environment and that can read files saved with other spreadsheet tools, is now at version 1.12.8.

The fifth version in the Gnumeric 1.12.x series has been dubbed “TBD,” and it fixes a number of problems with corrupted files, among other things.

According to the developers, the documentation has been fixed, uses can now paste into locked cells, the radio buttons behavior in the covariance dialog has been fixed, a border has been added around the font selector in the cell format dialog, and an item cursor problem has been corrected.

The developers have also released a new version of goffice, 0.10.8, which shares some of the same fixes. Check out the official announcement for a complete list of changes, new features, and updates. Download Gnumeric 1.12.8 right now from Softpedia.
