Red Hat has announced the availability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.10 Beta for all customers and partners.

The developer of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.10 Beta considers this Linux distribution to be a minor release, but it's important nonetheless.

Highlights of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.10 Beta:

• A new Red Hat Support Service called Red Hat Access has been added, making it easier for customers to manage, diagnose, and engage with the Red Hat team; • An updated version of the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) configuration scanner, called OpenSCAP, has been added; • MySQL has been updated to version 5.5; • Customers can now match subscriptions to their unique system needs.

Remember that this is a beta release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
