Utkarsh Sevekar has announced today, February 13, that his Debian-based Rebellin Linux 2.5 computer operating system is available for download for free. The distribution was previously only available for purchase for the sum of $9.99 (€8.8).

The Rebellin Linux is distributed in two editions, as Rebellin Synergy and Rebellin Adrenaline, both having GNOME and MATE flavors available for 64-bit and 32-bit computers. You can download all Rebellin Linux 2.5 editions right now from Softpedia or view the screenshot tour we’ve prepared for you.

And now for the new features and improvements brought by the 2.5 release of Rebellin Linux. According to the official release announcement, the Linux kernel packages have been updated to version 3.16 on both editions for MATE and GNOME flavors, the SMXI Script has been integrated, and numerous drives/packages have been updated.

While the Rebellin Synergy edition includes a new support page for faster support, as well as minor artwork updates (icon theme, wallpapers, etc.), the Rebellin Adrenaline edition comes with the GNOME Shell 3.14 user interface on the GNOME flavor, replaces Kazam with RecordMyDesktop for recording desktop sessions, adds the Blueman bluetooth manager to the MATE flavor, and it is more stable than the previous release.
