The Alpine Team has announced that Alpine Linux 2.7.2, a community-developed operating system designed for x86 Routers, Firewalls, VPNs, VoIP, and servers, is now available for download.

Alpine Linux 2.7.2 has received a lot of updates, and a few of them are for important packages. One of the most important updates is the implementation of a new Linux kernel, namely 3.10.23.

A number of important applications has been updated. For example, Zabbix has been updated to version 2.0.9, Ruby has been upgraded to version 2.0.0_p353, Git has been updated to version 1.8.43, and Samba has been upgraded to version 4.1.3.

Other major changes include various updates and enhancements. For example, group nsd has been added, HOME has been set for git daemon, and various security fixes have been added.
