RAR, a powerful archive manager that can be used to reduce the size of files and to decompress RAR, ZIP and other format, has been updated to version 5.00 Beta 2.

Every new version of RAR comes with a lot of new features and it brings a new format to the market.

Yesterday the developers released a huge update to the famous archiving manager, but a couple of problems have arisen.

Highlights of RAR 5.00 Beta 2:

• When adding an incompressible file to non-solid RAR archive, RAR 5.0 Beat could duplicate the first megabyte of archived file, resulting in damaged file. This problem has been corrected; • The "Add to archive..." context menu command has been fixed and no longer places the created archive in a wrong folder.

A complete list of changes, improvements, and fixes can be found in the official announcement.

Download RAR 5.00 Beta 2 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a beta version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
