The developers have fixed numerous problems

Quod Libet is a GTK+ music player that is using the Mutagen tagging library that's been around for quite some time. It's been getting some important updates in the past few months and now the devs have upgrade it yet again.

Quod Libet is a very good player and it's interesting to see that it hasn't been adopted on a much larger scale. It's true that the project has been dormant for quite some time, but now it's a lot more active and the latest update is proof of that.

One of the best features of the application is its ability to deal with large libraries that can have even tens of thousands of songs. It also uses a rather familiar interface and users won't have to adapt to anything new.

According to the changelog, the scrolling functions has been drastically improved, the mount points on Linux are now displayed properly, the theme has been upgraded in order to accommodate all the modifications in GTK + 3.15.x, a number of plugins have been updated, a new Rhythmbox plugin has been added, and MPDroid works again.

You can download Quod Libet 3.3.0 right now from Softpedia. If you have an Ubuntu system, you can use this third-party PPA. Just enter these commands in a terminal near you:

code
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lazka/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install quodlibet
Enjoy!
