QEMU 1.7 RC2, a generic open source emulator and virtualizer that can run OSes and programs made for a different machine, has been released and is available for download.

QEMU 1.7 RC2 supports virtualization when executing under the Xen hypervisor or using the KVM kernel module in Linux.

As usual, every new version of QEMU comes with a ton of changes and fixes. According to the changelog, performance and functionality improvements for USB 3.0 have been implemented, PowerPC now supports the dump-guest-memory command, initial support for supporting more than 1TB of RAM has been added, as well as support for AArch64 binaries.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
