PureOS, a Live CD distribution that allows the user to discover and use a GNU/Linux operating system without modifying the contents of the hard-disk, is now at version 7.0.

PureOS 7.0 is based on Debian Testing and it uses GNOME and Openbox as default desktop environments.

Highlights of PureOS 7.0:

• Linux kernel has been updated to version 3.6.11; • Chromium, Gparted, Synaptic applications were updated; • several scripts for module management (dir2pb, pb2dir, pure activate/deactivate, deb2pb and debs2pb) have been added; • smxi/sgfxi scripts have been added; • The distribution is multilingual, installable and built with the new Linux Live Kit scripts.

According to the developer, the Openbox version weighs only 356 MB, but the Gnome flavored distribution has more default packages.
