Puppy Linux "Racy," a distribution aimed at more modern hardware, but not necessarily the very latest, is now at version 5.5 RC.

Puppy Linux "Racy" 5.5 RC is based on Linux kernel 3.8.0, it's configured without PAE support and it will only work on an i586 CPU. It also features f2fs (Flash Friendly File System) support.

“Most of the system libraries and some applications in Racy (and Wary) have not been upgraded since 5.3, however a plethora of in-house applications have been updated. Also, the Woof infrastructure has undergone mammoth fixes and improvements since 5.3,” stated the developer.

More details about this new release for Puppy Linux can be found in the official announcement.
