Precise Puppy 5.7.1, a distribution built from Ubuntu Precise Pangolin 12.04.2, alongside the binary DEB packages, providing full compatibility with Ubuntu and access to the vast Ubuntu package repository, has been released.

Precise Puppy 5.7.1 features two web browsers, SeaMonkey and Opera, and a lot of other new features and fixes.

Highlights of Precise Puppy 5.7.1:

• Non-US keyboard layouts are now working properly; • When a user plugged in an external USB optical drive, with media inserted, the drive icon did not appear on the desktop. This problem has been corrected; • Playing DVD videos with Gnome-Mplayer is now working properly.
