Point Linux 2.2 Is an Interesting Debian and MATE Combination

Point Linux, a GNU/Linux distribution that aims to combine the power of Debian GNU/Linux with the productivity of MATE, is now at version 2.2.

Point Linux 2.2 is based on Debian 7 (Wheezy) and it uses Linux kernel 3.2.0-4. This latest version brings quite a few changes and new features.

The developers also integrated the latest version of MATE 1.4.2 and a number of important updates, including for the GUI Point Linux Installer.

According to the changelog, several packages haves been updated, namely Firefox 24.0, Thunderbird 24.0, and LibreOffice 4.1. Also, KVM/QEMU SPICE support has been added, the Fast User Switch has been enabled, and the Debian packages have been brought up to speed.
