Plex Media Server, a software that makes it easy for everyone to play movies and TV shows on the computer, has received quite a few fixes and it should be available for download.

Plex Media Server is able to work in a local network without any kind intervention from the users and it's capable of interfacing with a wide variety of devices including smart TVs and a ton of other hardware. Besides the fact that it provides support for locally hosted media, it also comes with a large array of plugins that give users access for a host of online sources.

The last couple of updates have been more about fixes, but there are a couple of interesting features in there. The developers said that albums should now also have a sort by "release date" album, users can now perform partial matching for local files, the quality of the subtitles has been improved, and the cloud Cinema Trailer selection is now much better.

Keep in mind that Plex Media Server has two versions, a free and a premium one. Usually, the premium version updates before the free one but, eventually, all the changes end up in the same branch.

Check out the official announcement for more details about this release. You can download Plex Media Server 0.9.11.7 right now from Softpedia.
