Percona Server, an enhanced drop-in replacement for MySQL that will allow queries to run faster and more consistently and to consolidate servers on powerful hardware, is now at version 5.5.27-29.0.

Highlights of Percona Server 5.5.27-29.0:

• Percona Server now supports XtraDB changed page tracking. This feature will permit faster incremental backups. • Number of binlog files can now be restricted when using Percona Server with the new max_binlog_files option; • A server assertion error related to buffer pool, only visible in debug builds, has been repaired; • A bug introduced the innodb_sys_stats_root_page debugging option has been repaired; • Multiple adaptive hash index partitions would cause overly large hash index, but this problem was fixed by changing the way partition sizes are initially calculated; • The issue where LRU dump would hold LRU_list_mutex during the entire dump process, has been fixed.

A complete list of changes and updates can be found in the official announcement.
