PC-BSD, a BSD distribution with the goal to be an easy-to-install-and-use desktop operating system based on FreeBSD, is now at version 10 RC4.

According to the developers, this latest image is very close to the final version and if all goes well this should be the last one.

“PC-BSD 10.0 is hurtling towards the finish line, and the big news this week of course is that the PC-BSD 10.0 RC-4 image is now live!” reads the official announcement.

Also, according to the developers, a number of problems from the previous releases have been fixed and PC-BSD 9.2 users will now be able to upgrade to PC-BSD version 10.0 Release and keep their PBI library.

A complete list of changes and new features can be found in the official announcement. Download PC-BSD 10 RC4 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
