14 DAY TRIAL // OpenWrt, a highly extensible GNU/Linux distribution for embedded devices, built from the ground up to be a full-featured, easily modifiable operating system for routers, is now at version 10.03.1.
OpenWrt 10.03.1 comes with new supported routers, as usual, but it also implements a number of critical fixes.
Highlights of OpenWrt 10.03.1:
• Support for the TP-Link TL-MR3420 has been added; • Support for the Netgear WNDR3800 has been added; • Support for the D-Link DSL-2650U has been added; • Further mac80211 improvements and stability fixes have been implemented; • The wireless interface numbering schema has been changed to support restarts of single radios; • Ethernet on newer Compex WP543 Boards has been fixed; • A race condition in link state handling of ag71xx ethernet driver has been repaired; • cpmac ethernet regressions on various AR7 boards have been fixed; • Various busybox issues have been repaired.

UPDATE: As pointed out by our readers, OpenWrt 10.03.1 was released some time ago, but since we didn't report on it at that time, we'll keep the article around for users who might not be aware of it yet.
A more recent version, OpenWrt 12.09 Beta, has been launched today, on October 16th. It brings some interface improvements and support for more ar71xx and Ralink devices. It can be downloaded from the same link as the stable version.
