If you remember Chris Sawyer's Transport Tycoon, then you will love the open source remake named OpenTTD. The developers have pushed a new version out the door and it is full of fixes and various changes.

OpenTTD is more than just a simple remake of the original game that managed to get millions of fans over the course of a decade. The developers have added all kinds of new features, like huge resolutions, better textures, more features, and a ton of fixes that resulted from feedback offered by a huge community.

According to the changelog, road junctions with trivial dead ends are no longer considered branch points during town growth, when crossing tram tracks with railroads the cost of extra roads is now counted, an error message in configure has been fixed, town growth failure is no longer considered as success in some situations, labels on smallmap and zoomed-out viewports are now centered, a crash related to the AI has been fixed, and the compilation on DragonflyBSD has been corrected.

OpenTTD comes with bigger maps (up to 64 times in size), stable multiplayer mode for up to 255 players in 15 companies, a dedicated server mode, IPv6 support, and much more.

You can download OpenTTD 1.5.1 right now from Softpedia and give it a spin.
