OpenELEC, an embedded operating system built specifically to run XBMC, the open source entertainment media hub, is now at version 3.0.5.
This is just a small maintenance release, with some bug and security fixes implemented since the previous version. Users can upgrade from 2.9x.x or 3.x to 3.0.1.
Highlights of OpenELEC 3.0.5:
• Several XBMC crashes introduced by an issue in curl have been corrected; • Avahi is now started on boot and the Avahi binaries are installed; • libbluetooth.so has been installed. This fix is for the PS3 remote and the Wiimote addons.
The developers have also stated that this will be the last version for ION 32-bit and Intel 32-bit users.
