The Numix Project has shown off some of its work regarding a number of icons it plans to use for games that are already available on Linux, and the first ones look amazing.

When people think about icon packs, they usually imagine icons for applications and other components, but the games have become a very important part of the operating system in the past year, especially after the release of Steam for Linux.

The Numix designers are working constantly to improve the Numix Circle Icon Theme and now they have tackled this new application category that is largely uncared for by other major icon packs. The designers have been showing off their work with some of the most famous games like Dota 2, Half-Life 2, Portal 2, Team Fortress 2, Serious Sam 3, and a few others.

The team also provides an easy way to install and test the new icon set, although it's not finished yet and more updates will be provided. Just open a terminal and enter the following commands:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:numix/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install numix-icon-theme-circle In order to activate the icon theme you will have to use an application like GNOME Tweak or Unity Tweak Tool.
