The developers have reconsidered their decision regarding the release of a Linux version

After the news that Nuclear Dawn, an FPS and RTS blend developed by InterWave Studios, would no longer get a stable Linux version and players would have to contend with the available Beta release, it seems that the developers have decided to rectify the problem.

Nuclear Dawn has been in the Beta stages for some time and, even if the developer, InterWave Studios, promised a Linux version, it became apparent that it would not be made, because the studio dissolved and the game was transferred to GameConnect.

The new developers didn't express their interest to continue with the plans for the Linux version, and the Steam users were rather disappointed. Now, some new information has been published on the Facebook page of Nuclear Dawn, saying that a Linux stable version will arrive after all.

“We know it has been quiet for some time but we have something in-coming for all you Nuclear Dawn fans at the end of this week. We will basically bring the Linux beta out of beta with a bunch of fixes (including workshop map syncing speed) and merging it with the main branch so Linux, OSX and Windows players can finally play together. Stay tuned for more information soon!” reads the Facebook page.

There is no indication of when we might get to see that new release, but it can't be too far off.
