You can make your system look like Mac OS X

Making Linux distros look like other operating systems is one of the favorite pastimes for some of the users, and a new transformation pack named MBuntu Y has been published.

The guys from NoobsLab have put together a tutorial that presents a semi-automatic procedure that can help the user get an experience very similar to what Mac OS X is offering. Some of you might wonder why you would want your OS to look like another one, albeit Windows or Mac OS X, but that's a discussion for another time. The main reason is that it can be done.

This is not the first transformation pack for Linux users. In fact, it was a time when this sort of packs were all over the place, and there was a real competition on who provides the correct approximation of the operating system. The Linux platform has matured, and the transformation packs are gone, for the most part. From time to time we get a new one, and the work done by NoobsLab is exquisite.

A complete package for this transformation is not provided, but the tutorial is quite extensive. If you're not sure about making these changes to your system, you might want to try them on a non-production machine first.
