Canonical employee Łukasz Zemczak has recently revealed the fact that the next OTA (Over the Air) software update for the Ubuntu Touch mobile operating system used in Ubuntu phones should arrive at the beginning or in mid-July 2015.

We reported the other day that the Ubuntu Touch OTA-4 software update was delayed due to some miscellaneous issues and that it was expected sometime at the end of this week or most probably at the beginning of the next week.

Łukasz Zemczak reports that those issues have now been fixed and that there's one more bug (2G->3G switching) that needs to be patched for the OTA-4 update to be finalized and released to all users of Ubuntu phones in the coming days.

However, while we are waiting patiently for the OTA-4 update, the Ubuntu Touch team is already planning the next OTA update for Ubuntu Touch, as Łukasz Zemczak notes in his daily report email.

"After OTA-4 is done and released, the next update will probably happen around start/mid of July. This means there will be some time to take care of some of the issues everyone is facing," says Łukasz Zemczak.
