Portal, an innovative single-player game developed and published by Valve, has been launched officially on Linux and a new Beta version is now available.

Portal was first released back in 2007, along with Half-Life 2 and Team Fortress 2. Valve still needs to update this old title, especially now, after being made available on Steam for Linux.

Highlights of the latest Portal updates:

• The character is no longer affected by slow game movement when sv_alternateticks is enabled; • The damage indicators are now showing correctly, if the user has changed the resolution while playing; • Various SDK tool fixes have been implemented.

Keep in mind that this Portal version is a beta release and problems are bound to appear. More details about the patch can be found on the official website.
