Wireshark, one of the better network protocol analyzers offering users the means to capture and interactively browse the traffic running on a computer network, is now at version 1.10.7.

The current version of Wireshark, 1.10.7, supersedes all previous releases, including all builds of Ethereal, and is now the latest stable build. It comes packed with numerous changes and features updates for various protocols.

According to the changelog, the RTP dissector no longer crashes, a crash that occurred when calling the "MAP Summary" dialog when no file was open has been fixed, it's now possible to compare a sequence number of a TCP fragment when its value wraps over uint32_t limit, trying to get access to Preferences no longer causes a segfault, and it's no longer possible to disable all media streams.

Also, the following protocols have updated: ANSI A, DVB-CI, GSM DTAP, GSM MAP, IEEE 802.11, LCSAP, LTE RRC, MAC LTE, Prism, RTP, SDP, SIP, and TCP.

As usual, the Linux users will only get the source code for the latest version, which means that you will need to compile it yourself if you don't want to wait until it arrives in the repositories.

A complete list of changes, fixes, and new features can be found in the official announcement. Download Wireshark 1.10.7 right now from Softpedia.
