Netrunner 12.12.1, a GNU/Linux distribution based on Kubuntu, featuring KDE as the default desktop environment, and integrating many GNOME/GTK+ programs to make it Ubuntu compatible, has been released on January 23.

Netrunner 12.12.1 comes with mostly updates, but some of them are quite important, as we can see below:

• KDE was updated to version 4.9.4 from Kubuntu backports; • Mozilla Firefox was updated to version 18.0; • VLC was updated to version 2.0.5; • The Linux kernel has been updated to version 3.5; • LibreOffice was updated to version 3.6.2; • Other important applications such as Skype, GIMP, Krita, Gwenview, Kdenlive, Telepathy Messenger, Muon Discover, VirtualBox, WINE, and Tomahawk, have been added to the distribution.
