He will be responsible for Firefox OS' marketing campaign

Mozilla has snatched John Bernard, marketing manager for Canonical's OEM department, and he will be responsible for the marketing aspects of the upcoming Firefox OS.

John Bernard has worked in the past three years at Canonical, and before that at Sony Ericsson and LG UK. The move seems to a be a pretty sudden one and took a lot of people by surprise.

Mozilla is making a push into the mobile OS market with the Firefox OS and it's obviously trying to recruit people with a lot of marketing experience.

John Bernard will take control of a marketing team that will be responsible with building the brand awareness for Mozilla's new product.

According to marketingmagazine.co.uk, Bernard will occupy the position of Global Marketing Director. He will certainly have his hands full trying to enter a market dominated by Google and Apple.
