This just got in: Mozilla Firefox 36.0 will bring support for the brand-new HTTP/2 protocol, according to the official release notes from the last Beta version of the web browser. HTTP/2 will enable a faster, more responsive, and more scalable Web.

Initially dubbed HTTP/2.0, the HTTP/2 protocol has just been finalized a few days ago, on February 17, 2015. It is the next-generation HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) network protocol used by the World Wide Web (WWW).

As expected, more and more technologies will adopt the HTTP/2 protocol. For example, OpenLiteSpeed web server will support HTTP/2 draft 16, and Microsoft’s IIS web server will also support the HTTP/2 protocol in Windows 10.

As we've reported last week, the forthcoming Mozilla Firefox 36.0 web browser, due for release on February 24, will bring a number of new features, including the anticipated pinned tiles sync functionality. It remains uncertain if native HTML5 YouTube playback will be implemented.

The last development release of Mozilla Firefox 36.0 is version Beta 10, which has been announced today, February 20. You can download Mozilla Firefox 36.0 Beta 10 for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X right now via Softpedia. Keep in mind that it’s still unstable!
