Mozilla has just updated its popular Firefox web browser application for all supported computer operating systems, including GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows. Mozilla Firefox 36.0.1 is now available for download and users can update to it right now from within the application or by downloading the respective binaries from the end of this article.

This is the first point release of Mozilla Firefox 36 and it brings a number of important fixes that have been discovered since its release last month, on February 24. Mozilla Firefox 36.0.1 drops usage of the ANY DNS query type, repairs a startup crash with Microsoft's Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET), fixes a top crash, and re-adds the -remote option.

The newly introduced Hello video chat component has been repaired, as it could become inactive until application restart and its contact tabs are now visible in certain conditions. In addition, the Print preferences will now be preserved between print jobs, and hostnames that have an underscore character in their name are now accepted.

Finally, the WebGL component won’t be so resource hungry when used with Canvas2d. Download Mozilla Firefox 36.0.1 for GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X right now from Softpedia. Binaries are available for both 32 and 64-bit computer platforms.
