Bodhi, a minimal Linux operating system based on Ubuntu and which has really small requirements, has reached version 2.3.0.

The Bodhi developer says that this is mainly a maintenance update. This means that all the new packages mentioned in the release announcement can be downloaded via the update manager.

Also, the time of the Bodhi 1.x.y series has run out and it will reach end-of-life next month. This means that the repositories for this particular branch will be shut down.

Highlights of Bodhi 2.3.0:

• Linux Kernel was updated to version 3.8; • Enlightenment desktop environment was updated to version 0.17.1; • Midori internet browser was updated to version 0.4.9; • Ubiquity was updated to version 2.12.

A complete list of changes can be found in the official announcement.

Users who are keeping their systems up to date via the package manager already have the latest version of Bodhi installed.
