Mesa, an open source implementation of the OpenGL specification and a system for rendering interactive 3D graphics, is now at version 10.0.1.

Mesa 10.0.1 is the next iteration in the series and implements the OpenGL 3.1 API. This means that some drivers might not support the specifications for the latest Mesa.

According to the changelog, “a change that may seem rather obscure (‘dri megadriver_stub: add compatibility for older DRI loaders’) indicates that this version of Mesa fixes the regression that Mesa 10.0 could not be loaded by any released version of the X server.”

Also, throttling has been enabled in SwapBuffers. Compatibility for older DRI loaders has been added, and a compiler warning regression has been corrected.

More details about this release can be found in the official announcement. Download Mesa 10.0.1 right now from Softpedia.
