The Mobile World Congress (MWC) event will take place next week, between March 2-5, in Barcelona, Spain. Meizu, a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer, will be at the event to showcase the forthcoming Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition smartphone, according to its latest tweet.

As we reported a few months ago, the Chinese mobile phone manufacturer will make an Ubuntu Edition smartphone based on its highly acclaimed Meizu MX4 device in collaboration with Canonical, which was also involved in the production of the BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition mobile phone.

Meizu MX4 is a high-end device that boasts a MediaTek Octo-Core A17 2.2GHz x 4 and A7 1.7GHz x 4 processor customized by Meizu, 2GB RAM, 802.11 ac/b/g/n/a Wi-Fi, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4G/5G), Bluetooth 4.0, a 5.36-inch display with a 1920x1152 resolution powered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, a 20.7MP rear camera, and a 2MP front camera.

The Meizu MX4 device will ship internationally once it is ready for purchase, a fact that remains to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress this year, where you will also be able to test drive the BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition smartphone at Canonical’s booth.
