Mark Shuttleworth Says That Mir Opponents Have Formed the Open Source Tea Party

Canonical founder has answered some of the critics regarding Mir

Mark Shuttleworth, the founder of Canonical, had a few harsh words for the people who made a stand against their upcoming Mir display server.

A new name has been chosen for the next operating system from Canonical, but Mark Shuttlworth also took the opportunity to say that all the Mir “haters” out there have formed an Open Source Tea Party, which is actually a bigger insult than it seems.

“Mir is really important work. When lots of competitors attack a project on purely political grounds, you have to wonder what THEIR agenda is. At least we know now who belongs to the Open Source Tea Party,” stated the Canonical founder.

Mir has been under heavy attack this past few months and Canonical even had some patches refused by Intel. In any case, Mark’s blog post is bound to attract a lot of attention.
